About WWC

“Word with a Champ” is a five-minute weekly radio show hosted by professional sports announcer Cherokee Cowboy Randy Taylor, distributed by Native Voice One. The program features up-close and personal interviews with professional and amateur athletes from a variety of events – from rodeo to motor sports.

The interviews are always entertaining and consistently include inspirational, motivational and spiritual reflections. Guests include Native American athletes from a variety of sports, all of the defending PRCA World Champions, and others non-Native athletes, even Major League Baseball’s, National League MVP Cody Ross of the San Francisco Giants.  This program is a positive moment in the day for listeners.

“Word with a Champ” is celebrating 15 years on the air on Native American radio stations in the Dakotas.  Radio stations in the United States and Canada now enjoy carrying the program because it is appreciated by listeners of all ages and like to air it multiple times weekly. A fresh interview is provided weekly with popular local and national sports figures sharing their insight for success in and out of competition.

Native Voice One is proud to now distribute “Word with a Champ,” which launched July 4th, 2011 in conjunction with NV1’s fifth anniversary.  NV1 distributed a pilot series of daily coverage of the 2010 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in December of 2010 on select stations. Host Randy Taylor, editor Roberta Griego, Burt Poley and Nola Daves Moses from NV1 together make up a winning team. Fast paced, dynamic use of music and inspiring interviews make for a quality program. We offer you the fun of “Word With a Champ” for positive radio programming throughout the year. We will also provide editorial coverage of events such as the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, the Lakota Nation Invitational, and events that you may request.
